Is a fire alarm system mandatory for my business?
That depends on the type of building and how it is used. The Dutch Building Decree and your permit determine whether a fire alarm system is required. It is often mandatory for buildings where people sleep, buildings open to large numbers of the public and buildings above a certain size.
What is NEN 2535?
NEN 2535 is the Dutch standard for fire alarm systems. It sets out the requirements for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire alarm systems. AM Security & Process Monitoring installs in accordance with this standard.
How often must a fire alarm system be maintained?
Under NEN 2654, a fire alarm system must be inspected and maintained at least once a year. Detectors must also be checked periodically. AM Security & Process Monitoring offers maintenance contracts.
